This book is excellent! Mr. Hogan's arrangement of "He Never Said A Mumblin' Word" alone is worth the whole price. I have sung several of Mr. Hogan's choral arrangements, but this is the first I have picked up of his solo arrangements. I purchased both the high & low keys. These are a must-have for voice teachers or students looking for original sacred & spiritual arrangements, for worship, contests, or just for singing & praying.
I already owned the High voice edition for my own performance. Now I will be able to assign these songs to my mezzos, baritones, and basses. Great addition to my studio library.
Perfect for my Bass voice and.selection of spirituals.

A wonderful collection of well-known and unfamiliar spirituals. Great as recital pieces or master class selections. I'm doing "Mumbalin' Word" as my master class piece -- it's such a thrilling arrangement, especially the Rachmaninoff-like piano part.

These are beautiful arrangements of classic spirituals for solo voice. I sang one for a church service right away and listeners were deeply moved. Every bass/baritone should have this collection in his library.
